The December before last, I flew to Austin, Texas for the book launch party of my first (and only!) ecookbook. My friend who had photographed the 30+ protein pancake recipes was hosting the party and all but demanded I hop on a place for the festivities. As you know, I don’t like flying. But if I have to, I always fly Virgin America because Richard Branson is awesome and the pinky-purpley (yes, that’s a color) mood lighting conveniently serves as my anxiety medication. And off I went. Austin was absolutely wonderful – I ate more Mexican food that I care to admit, shopped at a neat boutique downtown and visited the grandest Whole Foods in all the world. And of course, I had my eyes peeled for the dynamic duo of Camille Styles & Chanel Dror, but I never did bump into them. Sigh. Many moons later, I got in touch with the creative, stylish, and pop-singing Chanel, executive producer of Camille Styles, for a fun little feature and your daily dose of inspiration & giggles.

TODAY, ON MY TO-DO LIST…absolutely nothing! Our team just got back from a local spa resort for our annual holiday celebration…a much needed recovery from our grueling production schedule over the past couple months!

PINCH-ME MOMENT OF MY CAREER SO FAR…We’ve gotten to work with so many incredible brands and publications over the years that i’m afraid i’ve gotten a bit spoiled by it! one memory that comes to mind is getting to attend Marie Claire’s “The New Guard” luncheon in New York this past October, honoring successful, influential women. I wasn’t one of the honorees, but being in the presence of so many powerful and inspirational women, and hearing their incredible stories had me wondering if I was dreaming.

MY GUILTY PLEASURE IS…cheese in all its forms.

I CAN’T LEAVE HOME WITHOUT…to be honest, I leave things lying around and forget (or worse, lose!) my phone, keys and wallet habitually. I swear, I’d leave home without my head if it wasn’t screwed onto my body.

MY WORK CONSTANTLY CHALLENGES ME TO…focus my creativity to meet seasonal, editorial or client demands.

IN ANOTHER LIFE, I’D BE…a mississippi blues singer

I’D LOVE TO SIT DOWN WITH (celebrity, past or present) OVER (drink of choice) TO CHAT ABOUT…Beyoncé over cigars on ice to chat about Houston.

THE BEST PART OF MY WORK ISthat my boss and coworkers are my besties, and even if was gone tomorrow (knock on wood!), I’d want to hang out with them all anyway.

I’M A NINJA ATplanning and organizing. I may be a space cadet when it comes to where I leave my belongings, but I’m a methodical machine when it comes to the logistics of planning a trip or scheduling an event.

MY MOTTO: “I’m hungry”

IF I COULD INVITE ANY FIVE PEOPLE TO A DINNER PARTY, THEY’D BE: my best friends from my college a cappella group (probably closer to 10 people, but we’re being hypothetical here!) We’re all sprawled across the country now, but they’re the loudest, most rambunctious people on the planet, and madness ensues when we get together.

THE WILDEST THING I’VE EVER DONE…is I’ve never been one to turn down a dare, so there are plenty of wild moments. Does streaking while wearing a George W. Bush mask on my head count?

THE MOST EMBARRASSING THING I’VE EVER DONE IS…far too embarrassing to air out here!

THE BEST GIFT I’VE EVER RECEIVED…is a gold bracelet from my dad for my 25th birthday.

IF I WERE A ROCKSTAR, MY STAGE NAME WOULD BE…if anything, I’d be a rap star, and my name would be Chanel Dior. One letter off, big difference.

MY FAVORITE INSTAGRAM ACCOUNT TO FOLLOW IS…@yasminemei — flowers on flowers on flowers.

IF I COULD FILM A DOCUMENTARY, IT’D BE ABOUT…my family’s holocaust story.

MY FAVORITE BOARD GAME IS…card games for the win!

MY FAVORITE SONG TO SING IN THE SHOWER IS…“It’s All Coming Back to Me Now” by Celine Dion. And it sounds reaaaaally good.
