Well twenty fifteen sure started off with a bang! LIV has been growing every day and it has been the greatest pleasure to watch it become a success. Since we’ve been so busy, I decided it was time to buy my very first planner to keep the crazies in check. OK, so maybe I didn’t technically need it, what with all the technology I can’t seem to get away from (or enough of), but I’d be lying if I said I’ve mastered iCalendar – so pen to paper it is! I bought this one, if you’re wondering. Even if I miss a little something here or there, I’ll be one step closer to keeping my head on my shoulders and that’s always a good thing. Kellie Conner, the wedding and event planner behind Jubilee, knows what I’m talking about (she’s a pen to paper planner, too). Last year, she said goodbye to a career in marketing to realize her dream of bringing incredibly beautiful weddings to lucky brides throughout South Carolina. And guess what? She knocked it out of the park. In addition to planning a myriad of shindigs, this girlboss also started a rustic rentals business (yes, please), a stationary line (who doesn’t love paper?) and an Etsy shop where brides-to-be can create unique gift boxes (hallelujah). In a nutshell: impressive. Very impressive.

TODAY, ON MY TO-LIST…a venue walk through with a bride, send out my Southern Weddings Ornament Swap Gifts, finalize a custom save the date order, and finish up two blog posts for the week.

PINCH-ME MOMENT OF MY CAREER SO FAR…I had a stranger come up to me and ask me if I was Kellie from Jubilee. She told me how she follows me on Instagram, loves my work and can’t wait to hire me when she gets married. Talk about a feel good moment!

MY GUILTY PLEASURE IS…Michaels, I will go with nothing in mind to buy and come home with bags full of supplies for my next DIY or craft project

I CAN’T LEAVE HOME WITHOUT…my Simplified Planner. Most people their phones, not me, I have to write everything down!

MY WORK CONSTANTLY CHALLENGES ME TO…create something that hasn’t been done before. There are so, so many talented wedding planners and designers out there, but my newsfeed is constantly filled with the same ideas redone over and over. I try to look at people in other industries for inspiration and create things in a new way.

IN ANOTHER LIFE, I’D BE…an expedition leader. I mean, who wouldn’t want to travel the world with other adventurers seeing all of its beauty?

I’D LOVE TO SIT DOWN WITH (celebrity, past or present) OVER (drink of choice) TO CHAT ABOUT…this is a tough one, but I love Oprah and I love a good glass of pinot noir. She has the best outlook on life, has helped so many people, and she is always so positive. I would love to ask her how she finds her happiness every day and how she built her empire from nothing. Then I would probably beg her to make a talk show come back!

THE BEST PART OF MY WORK IS…the flexibility. No day is ever the same and being able to set my own schedule has given me a sense of freedom that I am so thankful for!

I’M A NINJA AT…cooking. Rachel Ray’s 30 minute meals have nothing on me. Maybe its because I’m queen of the microwave? I’m working on that…

MY MOTTO: “Create the life you want to live.” One of the main reasons I started Jubilee was because I was miserable in my 9-5 lifestyle. It just wasn’t for me. I felt trapped, like my job was my life and that didn’t feel right to me. I had this overwhelming feeling that I could be doing so much more than making someone else a paycheck, so I took a leap of faith and started my own business. It has been the best decision I have ever made.

1. Jesus (I have so many questions for him)
2. My grandfather I never met (but have heard the best stories)
3. Laura Casey of Southern Weddings (She is an amazing, God-fearing leader and I would love to pick her brain)
4. Steve Jobs (His business model and drive to never give up are so inspiring)
5. Ellen (I just want to dance with her)

Disclaimer: Maybe not all at once, I think the conversations might get a little weird with this group.

THE WILDEST THING I’VE EVER DONE…jump off a Massive cliff into glassy blue water in Croatia… I’m scared to death of heights.

THE MOST EMBARRASSING THING I’VE EVER DONE IS…during college graduation, I didn’t realize I was supposed to have a name slip that I handed to the president to read. My last name is “Conner” and I graduated with the “H’s”… Hey, at least I received that really expensive piece of paper they call a diploma!

THE BEST GIFT I’VE EVER RECEIVED…was tickets to see Eric Church at the Ryman. I love country music!

IF I WERE A ROCKSTAR, MY STAGE NAME WOULD BE…Well, I had no idea where to even begin with this question, so I did what I do best, Googled it. told me that my stage name would be ‘Devon Ford’… it has a nice ring to it.

MY FAVORITE INSTAGRAM ACCOUNT TO FOLLOW IS…Recently I stumbled onto @DreamyWhiteLifestyle and I’m obsessed! Her feed is full of the most charming, light, and simple images. I want a French farm house just like hers!
