YULIYA MOLITVENIK

From the moment I met Yuliya, I knew I liked her. She is the epitome of class, exuding enviable confidence and ambition you can only hope are contagious. She is a talented wedding photographer (and pianist!), constantly searching to improve, refine, reinvent, and grow her brand. And surprise, surprise, her aesthetic is swoon worthy — beautiful and unadulterated. But perhaps my favorite thing about Yuliya is her attention to detail and her immeasurable thoughtfulness: even with a jam-packed schedule, she manages to take a moment to write the sweetest notes for some very lucky people in her life (somewhere, Emily Post is beaming). I am thrilled to be able to share a glimpse into the world of such a lovely artist, inspiring businesswoman, sweet friend and coffee-house-finder-extraordinaire.

TODAY, ON MY TO-DO LIST…sign and mail out Valentine’s Day cards to some of my clients and wedding industry peers, read a few pages of a new business read I picked up, update my portfolio images, pick up tulips for my mother “just because”, and catch up on sleep.

PINCH-ME MOMENT OF MY CAREER SO FAR…seeing my photos published in magazines.

MY GUILTY PLEASURE IS…vanilla lattes and cheese danishes.

I CAN’T LEAVE HOME WITHOUT…earrings and my phone.

MY WORK CONSTANTLY CHALLENGES ME TO…be more efficient and to create new ideas to make my business more fun.

IN ANOTHER LIFE, I’D BE…a concert pianist.

I’D LOVE TO SIT DOWN WITH (celebrity, past or present) TO CHAT ABOUT...Golda Meir to chat about what it was like to start a new country, what to say of starting a new business ; )

THE BEST PART OF MY WORK IS…the people I get to meet along the way, and the many new friends and connections I make in the industry.

I’M A NINJA AT…navigating and adopting to new cities in a few days.

MY MOTTO: “It’s never too late for anything”

IF I COULD INVITE ANY FIVE PEOPLE TO A DINNER PARTY, THEY’D BE:
1. Blake Mycoskie – I love Toms and all that it stands for.
2. Jasmine Star – this photographer pushed me to start my own business, I’m forever indebted.
3. Reid Hoffman – a man who said this must be pretty cool, “Starting a company is like throwing yourself off the cliff and assembling an airplane on the way down.” That resonates with me so much.
4. Yuja Wang – as much as I’d like her at the dinner table, I would have her play my grand piano.
5. Vera Wang – I would love to hear her life story.

THE WILDEST THING I’VE EVER DONE IS…drive a taxi cab in Jordan – it was the driver’s idea, I promise.

THE MOST EMBARRASSING THING I’VE EVER DONE IS…an attempt to speak Arabic while in Egypt.

THE BEST GIFT I’VE EVER RECEIVED…a handmade card from my younger sister with sketches of our favorite cities.

MY FAVORITE INSTAGRAM ACCOUNT TO FOLLOW IS…@alice_gao – this girl is from my favorite city, NYC, and she’s a minimalist queen.
